Tim MacMahon now calls AD trade a ‘probability’

The Dallas Mavericks were awaiting the return of Anthony Davisand it looks like he’ll be back soon. There has been a lot of talk about Davis and whether the Mavericks would trade him, but for now it looks like they’re just hoping to get him back on the court.

At the same time, the Mavericks haven’t played well this season, and there’s a chance they could try to change some things on the roster to either try to improve or get something for the future. While they have some pieces that other teams may want, Davis is the one player who can guarantee them more picks and resources than anyone else on the Mavericks. That’s it good chance that Davis is being traded, according to ESPN’s Tim McMahon.

“A trade for AD is a real possibility – and I’d say likely – this season. Trading Kyrie is not something that’s on the Mavericks’ priority list, or it’s just not something they’re interested in right now,” McMahon said.

When Davis was asked about the trade rumorshe didn’t seem too upset, as he and the front office are having conversations.

“Man, look. You’re all making us go to war or something,” Davis said, via Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News. “This is basketball. It comes with it. … It doesn’t affect me. I’ve been in trade talks for a while now. My job is to do what I do when I’m on the floor, playing basketball and trying to lead this team. Whatever comes of that, comes of that.”

Davis thinks he can only control what he can control, but he also knows the business because this isn’t the first time he’s been traded. As for the Mavericks, they’re going to do what’s best for their franchise, and if that means moving on from Davis, they’re going to do it.
