Zach LaVine went into aggressive mode

Zach LaVine came out of a very complicated game against Houston where he scored just two points on just five shots. This Saturday, against the Heat, Zach LaVine arrived on the floor of Miami with a completely different mentality.

If he shot just five times in the entire game against the Rockets, that’s all he needed in six minutes against Erik Spoelstra’s men to score 10 of his team’s first 12 points. Sacramento’s point guard finished the first quarter with 18 points and continued in the second act to return to the locker room with 29 points on the clock.

“More than anything we want Zach to be aggressive, that’s what he needs to do for us,” reminds his coach Doug Christie. “He’s got to shoot more threes. He’s the No. 1 option when it comes to pull-ups, we set screens on him, he set screens in transition. He set the tone with a very aggressive mentality.”

A team that doesn’t want to give up

After the break, the former Bulls made fewer appearances to let the rest of Sacramento’s collective shine. During this meeting, all five Kings majors passed the ten unit mark, incl Maxime Raynaud who collected 12 points and 10 rebounds for his first start.

For his part, Zach LaVine finished the game with 42 points on 12/24 shooting and 8/13 from beyond the arc in 39 minutes of action to allow that the Kings would dominate at 127:111.

“The preparation was the same,” Zach LaVine said after the meeting. “Everybody in the locker room is a competitor. I’m a competitor. Nobody quits and nobody wants to lose. We’re going through a tough time, but everybody’s fighting. Everybody’s going to stay inside no matter what the outside says. Who cares.”

The success that allows Sacramento to end a streak of four consecutive losses. The series during which Zach LaVine was on alternating current since, if he scored 34 points against the Grizzlies, he was more difficult against the Suns with 13 points on 5/14, but also against Houston where he finished with only two points.
