Egor Demin’s roller coaster

Since the beginning of the season, Egor Demin sometimes shows interesting thingsbut really intermittently. He has a few good matches, so he doesn’t make it for a few days. Proof again recently. Through three games, he averaged 4.7 points and shot 31%. The young Russian was then pushed by his coach.

“It’s very impressive because if they had seen me at 19, I don’t know if they would have thought well of me”, if it appears Jordi Fernandez, to underline the maturity of his rookie. “He had a good game against Milwaukee after being challenged. From then on, we always want the same, or even better. We must not forget that he is only 19 years old and his intentions are good.”

Egor Demin’s response has really been notable for four games, averaging 16.8 points, 49% shooting and 42% 3-pointers. Or the best sequence of a short career. Highlights include his 20 points (6/11 shooting including 5/9 3-pointers) and 5 assists in a win against Philadelphia.

“He always wants to make the right choice”notes his coach. “We’re thrilled with his size as a playmaker, his ability to shoot, to pass. He’s very good at finding good shots to win for himself and his teammates and he’s much better at being aggressive when he gets into the game. When he can finish close to the circle, he’s very good.”

Defensively, it’s still not quite as Jordi Fernandez points out. “He still has to accept the one-on-one challenge, the physical impact on both sides of the court, but I like his progress.”specifies the technician. “It’s really special to see a 19-year-old kid make an impact and help us win.”
