Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s sobering truth bomb after another Spurs loss

OKLAHOMA CITY — For the third time in two weeks, San Antonio Spurs beat the All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 117-102 victory. While some thought Thunder’s Christmas match against the Spurs must-win, Gilgeous-Alexander revealed what a third Spurs loss in two weeks means.

For Gilgeous-Alexander, the Spurs have proven themselves better than the defending championhe said during his postgame media availability.

“We have to be better as a group. You don’t lose to a team three times in a row in a short period of time without them being better than you. We have to be better. Look in the mirror, and that’s everyone from top to bottom, if we’re going to get to our ultimate goal.”

The Thunder will continue their four-game homestand against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.
