The kings rejoice as they can
THE Kings came out of a correction received against the Clippers (131-90) and they had to show themselves in a better light during this reception of the Celtics. This Friday, Sacramento showed more desire than teammates from Maquime Raynaud held Boston for three quarters before letting up in the final act and trailing 32-18 with twelve minutes left arc 106-120.
Faced with this third consecutive defeat, Californians are trying to cheer up as best as possible and Doug Christie appreciated the more fighting face shown by his team.
“The level of competition was much better” underlines the Kings tactician. “The Celtics are averaging 13 offensive rebounds a game. They only took five tonight and we only had nine turnovers. Those are good things. But we’re not looking for morale victories, we want victories.”
Same story on the other side Keon Ellis : “You can tell the difference. If you watched the game against the Clippers and this one, you can tell we showed up tonight.”
Stopping at the end of the game
Having desire doesn’t guarantee wins and Sacramento could see that during this clash against Boston. In the final stretch, the Kings machine went 0/10 on 3-pointers, while Doug Christie’s men shot 44% through the first three quarters.
“You have to get stops. They scored more than 30 points in the last quarter,” underlined by Doug Christie who prefers to concentrate on defense rather than 0/10 from long range. “When I watch the match again, I’ll look at what happened on that side of the field. We have to defend without mistakes, and we made mistakes in jumps and conceded ‘those’. We have to contain them better and prevent the ball from going past their shoulders. The opponents will certainly not like it, but we have to play more physically. »
Hoping to break their losing streak, the Kings will challenge the Suns this Friday. A Phoenix team that has been in a much better dynamic than Sacramento since the Arizona franchise has won four of its last five games despite a misstep against Cleveland to end 2025.
