Chris Murray joins brother Keegan on the sidelines due to injury

Another NBA Murray got hurt. Joining his sibling on the sidelines it’s because of an injury Portland Trail Blazers small forward Chris Murray, who can be expected to miss at least a few games following his team’s announcement on Sunday.

“Injury update: Trail Blazers forward Chris Murray was evaluated after Monday night’s game against the Utah Jazz and was diagnosed with a lumbar strain in his lower back. His return-to-game status will be updated as needed,” the Blazers shared via a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.

As mentioned, Murray isn’t the only one in his family dealing with an injury, as the Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray is also out with a sprained left ankle it will reportedly sideline him for several weeks.

This latest update on Chris’ injury comes amid a hot streak by the Blazers. Portland will enter Sunday night’s game against Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks at the Moda Center in Portland riding a five-game winning streak. The Blazers are also coming off back-to-back wins over Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets to come just one win away from getting back to .500 at 20-20 against the Knicks.

So far in his third NBA season, Chriss has averaged 6.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 34 games while shooting 44.6 percent from the field while shooting just 50.3 percent from the field.

Chris, 25, who played college basketball for the Iowa Hokies just like his twin brother, was selected by the Blazers with the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NBA draft.
