Historic slump for Milwaukee and it’s time for Giannis to go

The Milwaukee Bucks may have reached the point of no return. After consecutive losses of a total of 51 points. They just lost to San Antonio, 119-101, after losing to Minnesota, 139-106. That’s the worst two-game differential in franchise history dating back to 1983. intensified unpleasant conversations around the league.

At 17-24 and spiraling after four losses in five games, the Bucks aren’t just weak anymore. They just seem directionless. When a franchise hits a historically low like thisit inevitably rekindles an inevitable question. Is it time for a franchise cornerstone Giannis Antetokounmpo should I go out?

This is not a mistake. Milwaukee’s 2025-26 season was an ordeal defined by inconsistency, defensive breakdowns and shrinking margins for error. Sitting fourth in the Central Division, the Bucks have struggled to establish an identity on both ends of the floor. The recent shocks were not competitive losses. They felt like non-games, the kind that signal deeper structural problems rather than temporary blips. For a franchise built around fighting every year, Giannis is in his prime, this part represents an organizational failure.

What makes the situation more alarming is that Antetokounmpo has been anything but the problem. Through 27 games, he’s still posting some pretty impressive numbers. Giannis is currently averaging 29.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. He shoots an absurd 64.7 percent from the field. Giannis has a fragile roster riddled with injuries and a defense that simply hasn’t lived up to the standards of his championship level.

He always emphasized loyalty. However, loyalty cuts both ways. At 31, with the clock ticking on his prime and Milwaukee sliding backwards, the Bucks’ historic collapse may end up being remembered not as a bad part. This may be the moment when the clock has finally run out.
