Conor McGregor has announced new contract ‘negotiations’ with the UFC

Despite there being no confirmation of his return to the UFC, the Irish fighter Conor McGregor has hinted at a possible contract renewal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. One of the most popular and brilliant fighters during his time in the company, McGregor is out from July 2021

Recently, appearing on a gaming stream with his son and streamer Cailus, McGregor opened up about his performance at the upcoming UFC event at the White House in June. While doing so, however, he also reflected on the UFC’s $7.7 billion deal with Paramount and how it inspired him to discuss his own possible “negotiations” of a new contract with the UFC.

“I’m going to negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in February. I’m very interested in going. They actually got a new deal with Paramount, it’s worth $7.7 billion. So the company has quadrupled their profits, and my contract is basically void now because there’s no more PPVs, whereas my contract was based on PPV. “I’m the highest generation PPV fighter of all time. The PPV system is over, I need a new contract. So we’re going into negotiations in February and I’m very interested to see how it goes.”

He also opened up about his current routine and preparation for his new UFC contract.

“And, what do I do for that? I focus on what I can control. I’m in the gym, I live in the gym, I focus on my health, I focus on rest. I listen to my coaches, I follow the game plan. Outside noise doesn’t exist for me. I don’t absorb it.”

McGregor last fought in July 2021, where he suffered a broken lower tibia against Dustin Poirier. While he was later scheduled to fight Michael Chandler in June 2024. the match was later abandoned. With his constant absence, McGregor also found himself at the end of several controversies.
