Draymond Green decodes the Mike Dunleavy trade move

The Golden State Warriors could be on the market well ahead of schedule, for two reasons. The first reason is to add depth afterwards Jimmy Butler’s ACL injurywhich will force him to miss the rest of the season. Another reason is for Jonathan Cummingawho requested a trade after recording 16 consecutive DNPs despite being healthy.
general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. he was talking about Kuminga’s trade requestand his quote seemed to be a hit on the player’s value.
“As far as demand goes, when you make a demand, the demand has to be there,” Dunleavy said at a recent news conference.
As most people took it as a jab, Draymond Green seen in a different light. During his latest podcast, Green shared what did he mean Dunleavy was really trying to say.
“Mike Dunleavy went viral because of JK’s trade demand. He said, ‘I’m aware of that, in terms of demand when you’re looking for demand there has to be demand in the market.’ When I first read the quote, I was like, he’s mad,” Green said. “Then when you actually watch the video, you’re like, oh, I understand what he’s saying. He answers the question about, yes, I know they were looking for a trade, but the demand has to be there.”
“For there to be demand, we have to search the market. We will search the market and see what the demand is.”
It’s pretty uncertain what Dunleavy was trying to say with that quote, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t seem like Kuminga has much value. It looks like there are teams interested in him, but it also depends on what they offer the Warriors in return. If Dunleavy isn’t good enough to get a deal done, it doesn’t seem likely he’ll get a trade.
