Clint Kubiak in the driver’s seat to replace Pete Carroll

The The Las Vegas Raiders are one of the last teams still looking for a head coach. However, it is clear that they have top target in mind.
Raiders they are preparing for the interview Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak for the second time over the weekend. Other contenders in the race believe Las Vegas is leaning toward hiring Kubiak, via ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
“It’s probably Kubiak’s job to lose,” said a fellow Raiders prospect.
With the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Las Vegas is likely to select their quarterback of the future. In turn, they will want a head coach who can help highlight his strengths. Based on his work with quarterback Sam Darnold, Kubiak fits the bill.
In his Seattle debut, Darnold completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 4,048 yards, 25 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He was selected to his second consecutive Pro Bowl.
The Seahawks ranked eighth in total offense, averaging 351.4 yards per game. On the other hand, the Raiders were last, averaging 245.2 IPG. It’s clear that Las Vegas needs new offensive leadership to get back on track.
Kubiak has been a coach in the NFL since 2016. He served as the offensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints before making a lateral move with the Seahawks. Had he not landed the head coaching job this offseason, he would have been a top target in 2027 assuming Seattle’s offense doesn’t fall off a cliff.
However, the Raiders hope it doesn’t come to that. With the Seahawks in the Super Bowl, that will throw off the franchise’s timing a bit. But as it stands, Kubiak is the favorite to lead Las Vegas in 2026 and beyond.
