Jordan Ott keeps it 100% on Devin Booker for the All Stars

Doc Booker is out with a sprained anklethe game he played in, his influence is there. They are 26-15 when he plays, along with a 117.7 offensive rating (which would currently be sixth best).
For head coach Jordan Ott, he always knew how great of a player Booker was, and is. In his first season, he was consistently praised as a coach and leader.
Although his game is not overly flashy, everyone in the locker room knows that Phoenix is his team. Otto is just glad to be Booker received recognition for his game.
“The coaches are getting a voice on the reserves, which is a good thing because we’re seeing the coaches prepare for him, especially this season,” Ott said, via PHNX Suns on X (formerly Twitter). “The amount of bodies he’s seen over and over again and the impact he has on the field, in the locker room, on our entire city and organization.”
“Again, there’s not enough good things to say when you have a superstar who does all the things nobody sees and does all the things on the field. We’re glad he’s here and he deserves to be. I’m glad the coaches recognized him, and that’s a group you want to respect, players and coaches. He obviously has that.”
Jordan Ott knows the Suns’ Devin Booker deserves to be an All-Star
In a complete reversal, c The Suns surprise the NBA. Many wrote them off before the start of the season. But through trust, over time, in addition to following Booker’s lead, they rose.
Phoenix is currently 30-19, and nearly matched last season’s total before the All-Star break. Much of the success has to do with Booker and his game.
Stats won’t blow anyone away, but he’ll likely have the most complete season yet. He handles double teams and traps as well as being the initiator of the offense.
He gave guys like Collin Gillespie and Oso Ighodaro the confidence to be themselves and play to their strengths. Booker may not be overly aggressive, but he commands respect.
And as Ott said, the coaches vote for the reserves, and almost every coach described Booker’s evolution and what a challenge it is to guard it every night and plan the game.
Despite still being sidelined, this could push Booker closer to recovery in anticipation of the big game.
