Jalen Duren learned of his All-Star Game selection midgame
Three minutes into the break between the Nets and the Pistons, Jay Bickerstaff calls a timeout. At the end of this break in play, the Little Caesars Arena “announcer” takes the floor to announce yes Jalen Duren is chosen between Substitutes for the 2026 All-Star Game. Nomination which logically gave a smile a major stakeholder, praised by the Detroit public.
“I didn’t want to know until after the match” reveals the new All-Star. “It’s a privilege and it’s hard not to smile. I want to do more for this city. They’ve never stopped cheering us on despite the ups and downs. To be able to bring another All-Star to this city is great. We have the best fans in the League and they deserve it. They’re there every night, no matter the game or the weather, to give us love.”
The selection is the culmination of a stellar half-season for Jalen Duren and the Pistons, currently in first place in the East. And this 2025-26 campaign is one of offensive explosion for Detroit’s interior, as it averages from 11.8 to 18.0 points. As long as he’s still getting ten rebounds a night.
