George Kittle makes a surprising discovery after meeting Stephen Curry for the first time

By NFL standards, George Kittle is a man of normal size. Standing at about 6’4, the San Francisco 49ers the tight end’s height is right around average for his position and slightly above the NFL average. on the other hand, Stephen Curry he is considered small among his peers. With his position and the general height of everyone around him, Curry is often one of the smaller players on the court.
That perception around Curry often leads to some hilarious interactions with NFL stars. Take Kittle, for example. The 49ers star recalls the time he first met the Warriors star point guard. Kittle he hilariously says that the interaction with Curry “messing with his mental.”
“The first time I met Steph was actually at a San Francisco Giants baseball game,” Kittle told Complex Sports. “It really messed with my mental state. When I first met him in Perth, I was like, ah, shoot. I’m not that big. I’m just not.”
Kittle also talked about LeBron James and his experience watching the NBA legend play.
“And then one time I had to see, like, I had to sit courtside and watch LeBron dunk all over the court. And I was like, oh my god, he just dunked. Good for you, man. That’s not me. We play different games. I’d still hit him in the knees.”
Curry is about 6’2, which is by no means small. In the NFL, Curry would be considered a bit taller than usual. However, due to the nature of the sport he plays, the Warriors star tends to look small while playing. That probably played into Kittle’s psyche and why the 49ers star was a little scared when he first saw Curry.
Unfortunately, Kittle suffered a torn Achilles during the 49ers’ playoff season this year. Because of that injury, the 49ers star tight end is unlikely to play a significant portion of the 2026 season, if not all of it. Kittle is a multiple All-Pro and Pro Bowl tight end.
