Alex Cora raved about Triston Casas’ rehab from a spring training injury

With Boston Red Sox star Triston Casas is recovering from an injury after suffering a torn left patellar tendon last May, there is no exact date when the team believes he will return. However, the Red Sox’s No. 1 seed in Casas gets a great rating from the manager Alex Cora related to recovery from injury.

Speaking to the media in spring training, Cora would be asked about Casas’ recovery from injury, saying that while he is of course limited, “he moves really well.” He would reflect on the progress made and how “happy” he was with how the medical staff treated him, as well as the 26-year-old himself.

“I think Triston is limited in certain things, but he’s actually moving very well, but we have to make sure the workload is consistent with the rehab. But he’s moving really well,” Cora said, per Tyler Milliken. “He’s moving well, I saw him jump for a couple of throws yesterday. He’s moving right, left. I mean, he’s impressive. He decided to stay here in the offseason. The medical team, the coaches and the strength and conditioning coaches, they’ve done an amazing job with him. I’m very happy with him. I’m very happy for him.”

Triston Casas of the Red Sox is getting real on his injury recovery

As it is Red Sok is prepared during spring training for the upcoming season, the team is waiting for Casas to return from injury, although there is no need “hurry up this process,” as the star says.

“I don’t see myself participating in the group, but I will do the same baseball activities (as the rest of the team),” Casas said, via MLB.com. “But right now, I haven’t been allowed to go out and participate with the group, but I’m going to take ground balls and continue to hit at my own pace, without the structure of being in team practice.”

Either way, Casas is looking to help the team in any way he can, having only played 29 games last season.
