NBA: Giannis Antetokounmpo rusty in return as Celtics beat Bucks
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo said he “didn’t play well” in his return from injury, but the two-time NBA MVP was “happy” to be back on the court.
The 31-year-old returned after missing six weeks of action with a calf strain in the 108-81 loss to the Boston Celtics.
He had 19 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes in a loss that left the 2021 champion Bucks in 11th place in the Eastern Conference at 26-34.
Antetokounmpo said “we’ve got 24 more games – that’s 24 fights” when asked about the Bucks’ push to make the postseason.
“Obviously I didn’t play well, but at the end of the day, I’m just happy to be out there helping my teammates in any way I can and doing what I love, which is playing basketball,” he added.
