Aaron Judge ‘brutal’ acknowledges New York’s slow offseason

With Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees are preparing for spring training for the upcoming season, there’s no denying that the story of the offseason has been a relatively quiet offseason for the team. While it is The Yankees re-signed Cody Bellinger in free agency. the other moves didn’t include any big names they could make, and star Aaron Judge gave his honest opinion on the offseason.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Judge was asked about the moves, or lack thereof, from New York, and he was candid in saying that it was “brutal,” “difficult” and “frustrating” pending team transactions, via Gary Phillips. A New York Daily News reporter would even note that Judge “shared some of his impatience with the front office.”
“I’m like, ‘Man, we’re the New York Yankees. Let’s go out there and get the right people, let’s get the right pieces to go out there and finish this thing,'” Judge said.
Although Judge later added that he had “expressed his opinions on several players, which included the ‘confirmation of the re-signing of Cody Bellinger,'” with the team and him agreeing to a $162.5 million contract. Judge would express his belief that the team is in a “good place”.
The Yankees also traded for pitcher Ryan Weathers from the Miami Marlins, but the team is largely bringing it back. When the judge was asked about it, he would say: “I like our chances.”
“I like it,” said the judge. “I’m looking forward to it. I like our chances.”
Either way, New York is looking to improve further after finishing 94-68, which placed them second in the AL East, although the team was eliminated by the Toronto Blue Jays in the divisional round.
