Aked Lakers Trade Mark Williams Ready to Bring ‘Extras’

Motivation can come in any number of ways; just ask Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams. He was one of the most important parts of the team, despite his minutes being closely followed.
Before being traded to the Suns in the draft, The Los Angeles Lakers tried to trade for Williams at the NBA trade deadline. However, that offer was ultimately rejected due to Williams’ review.
This made the latter quite angry, and he even talked about making organizations pay for not taking a chance on him. Now he will have a chance to get revenge on the team that almost got him.
Still, it is not full motivation to prepare to play well, but it certainly helps.
It’s always a little bit more, but I think we’re just focused on winning,” Williams said, via AZCentral’s Duane Rankin. “It doesn’t matter who we play.”
Mark Williams is ready for the showdown between the Suns and the Lakers
The center was probably the Suns’ most valuable player when it’s on the floor. His awareness, hands, ability to screen, rebound and just be a threat is something Phoenix hasn’t had in quite some time.
Over his last three games, Williams has pulled down 41 rebounds, 17 of which have been offensive rebounds. Plus, the growing chemistry between him and Devin Booker was a sight to behold.
Also, the statistics confirm the value, as the center has 7.5 points of the better team when he is on the floor. Although defense was the main concern, it was anything but.
Again, with The Suns are closely monitoring Williams’ minutesmakes it difficult to determine how much he can play on a given night. However, the range seems to be between 24-30 minutes, depending on the outcome of the game.
For Monday’s contest, he may vow to stay longer if he has a quality game. Staying in Los Angeles might be the motive, but putting another V in the win column might trump that.
