Anthony Davis disagrees with Rich Paul’s trade stance

Rumors have been circulating recently around the Dallas Mavericks and would they be able to search trading great Anthony Davis ahead of the upcoming deadline. Reports surfaced last week that Davis’ agent Rich Paul has demanded that the Mavericks take his client to a new destination while he recovers from injury.

Now, however, Davis himself appears to be less adamant conducting trade.

“There are trade talks, his agent Rich Paul has made it clear he thinks it’s in AD’s best interest to be traded. AD disagrees, though. I’m told he hasn’t asked to be moved and is comfortable here in Dallas,” NBA insider Tim McMahon reported on ESPN’s coverage of the Mavericks’ loss to the Mavericks on Saturday in Los Angeles. Twitter.

Paul has never been shy about using his public platform, amassed through his friendship with LeBron James, to leverage teams and get his clients where he wants them. At times over the years, this has run counter to what the clients themselves actually wanted, and it seems something similar could be brewing here, although McMahon has not reported that Davis is against making a trade.

At this point, it’s hard to say exactly what teams might be willing to give up in exchange for Davis given his long injury history, which most recently continued with a hand injury that reportedly nearly required the big man to undergo surgery.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks have fully handed the keys to the franchise to No. 1 draft pick Cooper Flagg, and also have Kyrie Irving waiting in the wings to return from an ACL injury from a season ago.

The NBA trade deadline is set for February 5th.
