Bam Adebayo on his return after a 6 game absence in the win against the Warriors
MIAMI – With The Miami Heat are getting a big return from star Bama Adebayo on Wednesday night, it led to a 110-96 victory over the Golden State Warriors, who were missing Jimmy ButlerStephen Curry and Draymond Green. As A’ja Wilson watched Adebayo lead the Heat to victory, the big man would speak upon his return after missing the last few weeks of action.
Adebayo has missed the last six games with a sprained toe, with questions about whether he would have limited use as a head coach Erik Spoelstra said before the game that the team would “monitor” his minutes. Still, he played close to 29 minutes, scoring 20 points on seven-of-13 shooting from the field, three-of-four from deep, along with seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
He definitely got better as the game went on, working his way into a “rhythm”, that Adebayo echoed the same sentiments to ClutchPoints as he also talks about how he feels after his first game back, while wearing a hat that reads “A seller of joy.”
“I felt good, man, I was just trying to find my rhythm, I’m not overdoing it,” Adebayo said. “Let the play come to me, and it’s at one point. And, you know, that’s the biggest thing in the game. The way we play, the ball will always find you if you have good intentions and if you make the right reads.”
He asked Bam Adebayo how he felt coming back after six games and getting more comfortable as the game went on:
“I felt good, man. I’m just trying to find a rhythm, not overdo it. Let the game come to me, and it’s at one point . . .” #HeatNation pic.twitter.com/hoBvkOkcIP

The big man would return to the starting lineup, with Spoelstra benching Kel’el Ware as well as Adebayo praised the sophomore center for an impressive performance, he scored seven points but grabbed 16 rebounds.
Heat’s Bam Adebayo reflects on road to recovery

Going into the Warriors match, The Heat captain was optimistic about his returnwith Spoelstra repeating again and again that Adebayo has been doing well since returning to practice. It’s undoubtedly been an arduous recovery process, as Adebayo scoffed at the work done by Miami athletic trainer Wes Brown, while expressing frustration that he is not there with his team.
“I love Wes Brown to death,” Adebayo said. “But I hate being hurt with him; he’s going to do four sets of 80 reps. It’s one of those things where I’d rather play than rehab with him. I love you, Wes. But it’s hard to sit there and watch the team fight and compete, and you want to be there, and you feel like you can stand on the court, and you feel like you can hold on so that I can make an impact on a win, but I can always take from that how hard is UD (Udonis Haslem) a role sometimes where I can impact the game without being there.

While Miami has room to clean up offensively, as the team narrowed down to the contest against Golden State, it was missing key guys, his presence especially felt in a 38-point fourth quarter that put the game away. Spoelstra would express how “great” it was to have him back.
“He just does so many things for the basketball team,” Spoelstra said. “Defensively, when he was on the floor, I bet the numbers were pretty good. That’s not a fluke. And offensively, I think it really plays to his strengths, because he’s really good at a lot of different things, and if you just limit it to one or two things, it’s not fully maximizing his skill set. It sure was great to have him back.”
He asked Erik Spoelstra what he thought of Bam Adebayo in return after missing the last six games.
“Man, he just does so many things for our team. Defensively when he was on the floor, I bet the numbers were good. … It was great to have him back for sure.”

Warmth Norman Powell highlights the “big effect” Bam Adebayo is having
Despite that Butler’s story on the Heat and Warriors gameeven though he didn’t finish playing, Adebayo’s impact was felt by all. Miami’s leading scorer, Norman Powell, especially emphasized how crucial it is Adebayo’s voice was heard on every side of the ball, saying he was sorely missed.
“Really big impact, not just his activity and what he does and what he brings, but just being a consistent vocal leader on the defensive end, talking about cuts, guys in position, making sure coverages are accurate,” Powell said after scoring 25 points, 17 of which came in the fourth quarter.
“You know, it’s really big,” Powell continued. “We know he’s going to bring energy. We know he’s going to make an effort on both sides of the ball, but his voice was on the court, he was loud on the sidelines, waiting to come back, which is also great, but having him on the floor and kind of controlling the defense is huge for us. So we definitely miss him and we’re glad he’s back.”
