Brony James gets the honor before the game in the absence of LeBron James
The Los Angeles Lakers they essentially gave away their competition on Tuesday night against the San Antonio Spurs, as essentially their top five of Luka Doncic, LeBron JamesAustin Reaves, Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart were out for the second straight night. And predictably, the Lakers later fell behind the Spurs Victor Wembanyama scored 37 points in the first half alone.
At the very least, Lakers fans saw a slightly cool pregame moment that everyone would like to forget. Without LeBron, it was his son Bronnie James who took over on duties of throwing the ball before the game during their warm-ups that his father usually has, and in fairness to him, he did well.

This is about the only good thing Lakers fans can take away from this game. Fans who spent their hard-earned money to watch the game live at Cripto.com Arena must be pissed about that not even one of the Lakers’ stars were active during the night.
Either way, the Lakers prioritize the long-term health of their players, and with the All-Star break just around the corner, this is the smart thing to do anyway.
The Lakers were outmatched against the Spurs

There was simply no way the Lakers were going to be very competitive on a night with five of their most valuable players sitting out due to various shots. Fans may reminisce about them early season win against the Portland Trail Blazers although they were in shorthand, but they were with Ayton in that game and the Blazers are much worse than the Spurs.
This loss is a write-off, and the Lakers are now 32-21 on the season as a result even though the game is not yet officially over. They’ll look to get back on track Thursday when they take on the Dallas Mavericks.
