Clumsy all game, Jaylen Green adjusted his aim in the last second
After the losses of Devin Booker (hip) and from Dillon Brooks (hand), the Suns could have let this game go against Orlando. Trailing by 8 points at halftime, Jordan Ott’s men, however, rallied to an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter.
However, Orlando came back in the last act and managed to secure overtime. In the last minutes of regular time, Phoenix also lost Jordan Goodwinhit the shin.
“You have to find any way to win to move forward,” reminds Jordan Ott. “Only wins and losses count in the rankings. This group has shown incredible resilience.”
In the first overtime, Grayson Allen he’s working on trying to get the win for the Suns. With a minute to go, the winger put his team in the lead, but Paolo Banchero he responds and the meeting continues in the second additional period and it is here Jalen Green wake up.
In difficulties throughout the meeting, formerly of Houston scored seven points in this second overtime including the most important shot of the night. One more second until the match, Jevon Carter there is a tie, but Jalen Green inherits the match point and increases to 3 points to release Phoenix on the buzzer.
Forgotten clumsiness
“It’s a great feeling to see the ball go in” assures the hero of the evening. « The boys continued to cheer me on throughout the meeting. It was a tough night, but we kept fighting. We did everything to take the lead in the second overtime. Everyone was telling me to keep my head up and I wanted to make the last shot. »
One last shot that wasn’t meant for Jalen Green. Jordan Ott admitted that the system he drew on the last timeout should have resulted in a field goal Collin Gillespie. However, the Magic’s defense forced Phoenix to rethink their plans and it was the former Rockets who found themselves with the winning ball in their hands.
I told Royce (O’Neale) after the time-out that if the system is not possible, I will run straight to the ball. Jalen Green explains the last action of the game. “Royce served me well and I was able to put that shot in.”
Jalen Green finished the game with 16 points on 6/26 shooting. A clumsiness that does not surprise his coach, who wants to point out that the rear part is not yet in rhythm due to numerous visits to the clinic.
« It’s normal when you miss so many games. You can’t train. You can’t get into a rhythm to play effectively in the NBA. When you play without rhythm, that’s what’s expected. The most difficult thing is to go through all that and hit it like that. He is an amazing shooter. Players of his caliber are capable of going forward, especially when the game is on the line » he concludes.
