Cooper Flagg is feeling “much better” after Anthony Davis’ return

It seems that all is right with the world again. Well, at least for Dallas Mavericks newcomer Cooper Flagg.
The Mavericks recorded their third straight victory on Wednesday after beating the Miami Heat, 118-108, at the American Airlines Center. Flagg was the best with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting. He also had six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
Dallas is now 2-1 Anthony Davis returned from a finger injury that caused him to miss 14 games. The Mavericks went 3-11 in that stretch.
Now that he’s back, Flagg admits he feels “much better” when Davis is on the floor, as Joey Mistretta of ClutchPoints reported.
“Obviously, the caliber of players that he is. You know, I think just with him and Klay (Thompson) on the court at the same time, the amount of gravitas that those two guys have, pulling the defense towards them and creating space there, that’s huge for me,” the 18-year-old forward added.

Davis had 17 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, one steal and three blocks against the Heat. Meanwhile, Thompson added 17 points off the bench, including five 3-pointers. The Mavericks improved to 8-15.
Davis, a 10-time All-Star, has struggled to stay healthy throughout his career. Still, he remains a two-way force when he’s on the field.
The Mavericks have had an inconsistent roster this season due to injuries, with Davis, Thompson, Derek Lively II, Daniel Gafford and Kyrie Irving all missing.
However, they are looking good in recent days, and Flagg gets more comfortable as one of the focal points of their offense.
