Courted in Europe, Cameron Payne prefers to wait for a new chance in the NBA
two weeks ago, Cameron Paine tried to win his place among Pacerswhere the void at the helm (Tirese Haliburton and TJ McConnell) could have helped him integrate the franchise’s final regular-season team. Except he was finally released a few days before kickoff and, since then, has been waiting for another chance in the NBA.
Teams in Europe, i especially Partizan Belgrade in Serbiawould like to recruit the 31-year-old leader, but according to Mark Steinthat won’t happen. The person in question therefore prefers to stay in the United States and find a team in the Big League, rather than fly to the European continent, where he has never played before.
Having played for the Knicks last season (6.9 points, 2.8 assists, 1.4 rebounds), Cameron Payne will therefore wait at home in Phoenix for a possible call from a new franchise.
Also formerly with Oklahoma City and Chicago, he has been in the NBA since 2015, while his experience and his ability to be effective offensively in short playing time off the bench could allow him to quickly find a contract in the coming weeks.
