Dennis Allen insists he ‘has a plan’ to stop Eagles’ Tush Push

The The Chicago Bears will face one of their toughest tests yet when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13. If necessary, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Eagles retire their coveted Tush Push.
Probably the most controversial, yet successful game in football when hosted by Philadelphia, Tush Push attracts the attention of all opponents. The Bears defensive coordinator is well aware of the danger posed by the Eagles’ secret weapon and already thinking how to stop itvia Adam Hoge of CHGO.
“We have a plan,” Allen said.
Allen argues that the best way to stop a play is to not put your team in a situation where they have to defend it. Stopping the Eagles’ free-throw offense will be the Bears’ top priority. While Chicago enters Week 13 leading the NFC North with its 8-3 record, there have been some holes on defense.
The Bears rank 27th in total defense, allowing 362.8 yards per game. They really struggled against the run, allowing the fifth most yards in the league on the ground at 138.1 IPG. Chicago’s pass defense hasn’t been much better though, ranking 21st with 224.7 IPG allowed. Chicago has reinforcements on the waybut the defense at large must take a step forward against the Eagles.
Philadelphia has been embroiled in controversy, reducing their offensive numbers. They rank 24th in total offense, averaging 303.6 IPG. Still, this is an Eagles offense featuring Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith. Not to mention Saquon Barkley running the game. It will be one of the toughest challenges in Chicago.
How the Bears respond will depend on whether their winning streak continues. But at least when it comes to Tush Push, Allen is locked down.
