Dillon Brooks wants to learn from his disagreements with LeBron James

Dillon Brooks and LeBron JamesWednesday, after Suns practice, Dillon Brooks admitted that he was out “a bit of his role and a bit of myself” after a the eleventh clash with LeBron James and his ejection against the Lakers.

The Canadian winger vows to learn from this episode, even if he will never look down in front of the four-time MVP.

“I have to learn how to stay in the game and be able to influence the game when I’m on the court”he explains about this new incident. “That’s the problem I’ve had my whole career: I let things like this happen and then I find myself off the field. In the end, people hate me, say I’m not a good player and all that. But when I’m on the floor, it completely changes the match.”

This time, Dillon Brooks was ejected for provoking LeBron James after a 3-pointer that gave the Suns the lead in the final seconds. Contact is useless. Not bad, but enough for the referees to consider it an “unsportsmanlike” gesture because the ball was not in play.

A victim of his reputation?

“I’m just aggressive”he defends himself. “I guess it was during a stoppage in play, and then we go back to a rule I’ve never heard of: when there’s contact — like every game — they choose whether it’s going to be a technical foul or not. Every game, while the ball is not in play, players collide. It’s case-by-case. And that’s just me.”

For Dillon Brooks, the provocations are reciprocal, and he believes that LeBron James is obsessed with what is being said on social networks, and that he acts based on what people will say about him…

“He’s a social media addict,” chains Dillon Brooks. “He’s all over the networks, so he probably sees what I’m saying. He thinks people should talk about him a certain way, or not say anything, or act a certain way. I’m not going to play that way. He’s got his moods, his moments, whatever. That’s fine with me.”

Before I end with a little provocation, because he’s clearly stronger than him: “I wish I had given him the last shot (on which he was fouled) because it would have been an aerial ball for sure.
