Dylan Harper celebrates San Antonio’s depth after beating the Magic

The San Antonio Spurs showed their growing depth Wednesday night in a tough 114-112 road win against the Orlando Magic to close out a demanding back-to-back. The Spurs moved to 15-6 while dealing with current Victor Vembanyama injury, a sprain that required every part of the rotation to be strengthened.
Rookie guard Dylan Harper provided another strong impact off the bench with 16 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals. The composure he showed in key stretches helped stabilize the group around De’Aaron Fox, who has handled a late workload. After the two-point win, Harper spoke in the broadcast booth, and his message reflected how this roster continues to thrive despite the lack of key contributors.
Jacob Tobey posted the play-by-play voice of the Spurs on X (formerly known as Twitter), sharing Harper’s full comments from the chat after the win over the Magic.

The statement was exactly what the game called for. The Magic tied the game at 112 after Franz Wagner hit three free throws with 7.7 seconds left. Fox answered with two free throws of his own with 1.4 seconds left, putting San Antonio back in front. In the last game, center Luke Cornet blocked Wagner’s layup at the buzzer to seal the score, a moment that underscored how prepared each player was in this stretch.
San Antonio is 7-2 in its last nine games without Webby, gaining momentum behind a large attendance. Harper, Keldon Johnson, Cornett and others kept the Spurs steady through a tough schedule. The road preview showed how quickly the team adapts, winning with different scorers and defenders every night.
As Vembanjama is working on his way backthe Spurs’ depth continues to define this early season, offering a clear sign that San Antonio can compete with any opponent when the full rotation is on.
