Giannis buys $14 million property in New York sparks trade

Everyone kept his eyes on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the moves he’s made over the past few months as the trade frenzy has surrounded him since the offseason. For a while it seems that Antetokounmpo has been linked to New York Knicks, but it is uncertain if anything could materialize between the two teams.

Some chose to look beyond that and see some of the things Antetokounmpo has done in his personal life that could hint at a move. That move did he shop a $14 million, 28-unit apartment building at 111 Clarkson Ave., in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn.

The eight-story apartment building was built in 2018, according to KD Jain of The Sporting News. All units in the building are regulated by rent.

That move alone makes one think that Antetokounmpo could be about to be traded to the Knicks. On the other hand, some know the real reason Antetokounmpo bought the building, it is believed more investment propertyaccording to some Reddit users.

“Right, there’s no way he’s commuting from PLG to Westchester to practice. If he bought a place in White Plains, I’d be excited,” wrote one user.

“This is a 28 unit apartment complex that will rent for 3,000 a month per unit. By the time he’s 40 and retired from the NBA, the building will be completely paid off and he’ll be making a million dollars a year,” wrote another user.

“He bought a building, not an apartment. It’s an investment,” wrote a third user.

These comments alone should put to rest any rumors that Antetokounmpo is already plotting his departure from the Bucks and trying to make his way to the Knicks. At the same time, they are one of the teams he seems to be interested in, and they have the power to make a move for him.
