Green posted another weird story about Rick Carlisle from a former teammate
The Indiana Pacers they have since been rejuvenated Rick Carlisle he returned as the team’s coach in 2021. Carlisle led the Pacers to the conference finals and NBA Finals in the last two seasons. However, it has recently come to light that Carlisle have been using some strange recruiting tactics for players like DeMarcus Cousinsand Draymond Green added to that.
On the latest episode of “The Draimond Green Show,” Draymond Green reiterated that he’s heard even more strange stories about Carlisle. He said he heard from his former teammate that Carlisle they would just come to their house, sit down, and then, after a while, get up and leave.
Green said, “I had a teammate that used to play for Rick Carlisle and Rick Carlisle, apparently he and Rick Carlisle live in the same town and he said that Rick Carlisle would like to randomly come over to his house in the summer and sit there and he likes to sit and he likes to sit and he’d say, ‘Man, Rick, what are you doing? Why are you just sitting at my house?’ And he would sit there. And then after a while he’d say, “Okay, I’m out of here. I’ll see you later. It’s good to see you.” Like, dip. And so, I said all that to say, “I trust Bug about selfies.”
The whole reason Green addressed the Carlisle story is because DeMarcus Cousins brought it up Carlisle was sending him selfies to try to recruit him.
Cousins did not take well to Carlisle’s attempts to recruit him to Dallas. The big man was an All-Star caliber player for the Sacramento Kings before being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, where a torn Achilles injury ultimately cut short his potential and prevented him from continuing to be an All-Star caliber player.
Context clues suggest Harrison Barnes is a former teammate Draymond Green is referring to after signing with the Mavericks in free agency. It shows that Carlisle has always been a strange guy with strange behavior.
