Harrison Barnes earned high praise from Dylan Harper after a 31-point outburst

Harrison Barnes is the exact type of player that any winning team needs. The The San Antonio Spurs certainly know how valuable Barnes can be even when some of his contributions don’t quite show up on the box. That’s why when he shows up for a big scoring night like he did on Tuesday when he scored 31 points to lead the Spurs to a 126-119 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, the whole team raves about him.

The Spurs had so much fun after beating the Grizzlies that it appeared the entire team was behind Barnes during his postgame interview with the FanDuel Sports Network booth. They were having so much fun that Dylan Harper, the second overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, was pulled over and asked what he thought of Barnes’ incredible night. And Harper didn’t disappoint with his response as he blasted Barnes all the praise he could give.

“God bless him every day. In 14 years? Look what he’s doing, man!” Harper said as Barnes grinned from ear to ear next to him, via the official NBA account on X (formerly Twitter).

Barnes may not do anything sexy whenever he’s on the court, but he works hard, is always in the right position, and is always ready to do what the team needs. And when his shot falls, as it did on Tuesday, then everything gets good for the Spurs.

Spurs broadcast duo Jacob Tobei and Sean Elliott affectionately refer to Barnes as “Mr. 100%,” and for good reason, as he seemingly never misses a beat.

Spurs will understandably be cautious with Victor Vembanyama, who is currently sidelined with a calf strain. But this threatened their favorable place in the West standings as they looked set for a significant drop with their best player on the mend.

They are 6-2 since Vembanyama had to sit out due to injury. They’ve also been without Stephon Castle for the past seven games. This The Spurs team is deepand it’s in large part thanks to the contributions of unsung heroes like Barnes that they’re able to win games and hold the fort.
