Jaylen Brown (42 points) goes all out against the Knicks

THE Celtics there may be less talent, but the pride is still intact, especially when a historic rival from New York returns to Massachusetts to do battle. Winners at MSG a week ago, Nix this time he bit the dust at the end of a great battle, on one side the trio of Bridges-Hart-Towns who tried to push Boston to the limit, and on the other the steadfast Jaylen Brown. The author of 42 points, he brought light after a complicated start…
The Knicks quickly took the lead, starting the match with an 11-2 run before maintaining a deficit, thanks to the outside skill of Myles McBride (2/2) and Josh Hart (3/3) and the work of Karl-Anthony Towns (14-25). KAT briefly put NIC at +14 after scoring three straight baskets (25-39). Problem, his demonstration bruised the ego of Jaylen Brown, who single-handedly led Boston back on a 10-0 run, including a big dunk, a 3-pointer and a 2+1 to make it 37-39.
Josh Minot and Derrick White imitated him from afar, but again he fought back to finally give the Celtics the lead with another powerful dunk (47-46)! With defense, efficiency in transition and a final mid-range basket from the unsustainable Jaylen Brown, Boston entered the locker room at +6 (58-52) and did not let go after that.
Mikal Bridges boiling
New York held on, especially relying on the breathtaking Michael Bridges, like his three 3-pointers (80-72). Boston was able to hang back, especially thanks to Peyton Pritchard and Minot-White’s pair of 3-pointers, before closing the third quarter with a flawless 12-0 run in which JB again scored twice before handing the bat to Sam Hauser and Derrick White from behind the arc (94-76).
It took more for Mike Brown’s men to surrender, as they regained their lead with a 9-0 run and then a 12-0 run with another Mikal Bridges opener to finish this crazy streak still within 3 points (102-99). The Knicks kept the pressure on with 2+1s from KAT and Josh Hart and then another basket from behind the arc by Mychal Bridges, but the Celtics stayed the course until the end. We will especially remember the precious points of Jordan Walsh who accompanied the White-Brown tandem that managed to lead Boston to a 123-117 victory.
WHAT TO REMEMBER
Jailen Brown wakes up. Struggling early in the match, like his team, JB sounded the revolt by making it 10-0 himself and then nailed a huge layup to give the Cs the lead. The second quarter ended with 18 points, which allowed the home team to get back on track. He was then valuable in the second half, a beacon in the dark when New York stepped up their attacks in an attempt to regain control, to no avail. A last-ditch dunk to cap off his stellar night with 42 points to secure the win for his team.
Karl-Anthony Towns was a slut. Overall a great game, but some avoidable mood swings, like during his first two fouls in the first half, due to a collision and then a missed trip by Jaylen Brown that sent him to the bench. New York’s interior remained in his match, but during his time on the bench before the break, Boston took the opportunity to completely change the course of the match. Too bad!
Nickel Bridges. Miles McBride and Josh Hart set the tone and Michal Bridges followed! Amazing streak marked by cheeky success to finish on 8/12 with 3 points and 35 points on the clock! Inevitably, he inherited the last ball that put New York at -1 with 20 seconds left, but this time his attempt did not find the target. A great performance, however marred by defeat.
