Jalen Brunson completes a historic feat on offense for the Grizzlies

The New York Knicks they go at their own pace. After a bit of a slow start to the new campaign under new head coach Mike Brown, the Knicks are finally playing with the level of consistency and excellence befitting a powerhouse team. On Tuesday night, they handled business against quite handily the roaming Memphis Grizzlieswinning 133-120 behind another incredible night from Jalen Brunson.

Brunson led all scorers of the night with 32 points with six three-pointers, but he didn’t just fill the column. He also dished out 10 assists and pulled down five boards, capping another stellar outing for the Knicks. At the same time, he became the first player in Knicks franchise history to have the most games with at least 30 points, 10 assists and five three-pointers, according to StatMuse.

It’s clear that Brunson is one of the greatest guards in Knicks history, even though he’s only been with the team for four seasons. In today’s NBA, he is the right type of point guard who can take a team to great heights. He can battle his man one-on-one, is very skilled beyond the arc and plays very unselfishly.

It is no accident that it is The Knicks have been a consistent playoff team with Brunson leading the way. He is simply in control and is never rushed by the opposition’s defense.

This Knicks team seems to want to be a more egalitarian offense. But Brunson is still the clear leader of this hierarchy, and he showed it in the way he led his team to victory on Tuesday.

There’s no question the Knicks have been that dominant over the last five games. They’ve won all of their previous five contests by double digits, and it’s not like they’ve just padded the win column by beating bad teams. However, they took down the Minnesota Timberwolves by 23 points last Wednesday.

This next installment should prove to be more of a test for the Knicks. They face the Orlando Magic tomorrow in the second game of a back-to-back, then take on the surging Miami Heat over the next few days.
