Jamal Mosley’s joke is a good sign after the health scare against the Knicks

The Orlando Magic clinched a big win against the New York Knicks on Saturday, 133-121, but much of the postgame focus was on the head coach’s health Jamahl Mosley. Mosley suffered a brief health scare during the Magic game, and was unable to practice in the second half against the Knicks.
However, Jamahl Mosley appeared to be in good health and ghosts following the game, according to Josh Robbins of the Athletics, possibly signaling that he will be fine to coach for the Magic’s back-to-back game against the Boston Celtics on Sunday.
Mosley even joked about his situation, saying he shouldn’t have yelled at referee Karl Lane during the game like he did before the scare. He admitted to feeling lightheaded and dizzy before leaving the sidelines.
Mosley’s name has come up in rumors regarding the Pelicans’ head coaching job after the organization fired Willie Green, but he is doing a solid job with the Magic this season.
The team has been without star forward Paolo Banchero for the past five games with a groin injury, but Mosley has the Magic at 10-7 and just a game and a half behind the second-place Toronto Raptors (11-5).
This is Mosley’s fifth season as the Magic’s head coach after being hired ahead of the 2021-22 season. After missing the playoffs his first two years at the helm, the Magic made the postseason the last two years.
He posted an overall record of 144-184 over the past four years. Mosley was an assistant coach with the Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks before joining the Magic.
