Kawhi Leonard, James Harden stiff media after loss to Grizzlies

The Los Angeles Clippers were defeated in embarrassing fashion on Monday night, losing 121-103 to the Memphis Grizzlies in LA. Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 21 points, while James Harden added 13 points and six assists. According to beat reporter Joey Linn of Sports Illustrated, both Harden and Leonard left the arena before he even spoke to the media.

“Kawhi Leonard and James Harden left without talking to reporters after Clippers loss to Memphis,” Lin wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The Clippers now sit at a dismal 6-20 record, which puts them in 14th place in the Western Conference standings. Only the 5-22 New Orleans Pelicans are currently worse than LA in the West. The Clippers trade rumors are already starting to swirl as it becomes clear that their current roster just isn’t getting the job done.

For the team, however, there were more instances of drama other than simply losing. The Clippers acted on the decision to release Chris Paul he was criticized by many in the NBA. With Leonard and Harden moving on to talk to reporters after the tough loss, the frustration is sure to only grow among fans. The Stars should take responsibility, something the Clippers’ best players seemingly avoided doing Monday.

Los Angeles will try to get back on track Thursday night. Accomplishing that feat will be a huge challenge, however, as the Clippers will travel to Oklahoma City to play the Thunder — who hold the NBA’s best overall record. Tip-off for the Clippers-Thunder matchup is set for 8:00 PM EST.
