LeBron James and Luka Doncic injury updates for Hawks clash

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to snap a three-game losing streak when they host the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, but they may come up short. The Lakers have dealt with injury problems all season, and LeBron James and Luka Dončić both appeared on the injury report heading into Tuesday’s game.

They were LeBron James and Luka Doncic both listed as questionable on the Lakers’ injury report for their game against the Hawks. James hasn’t played back-to-back games this season, so his inclusion in the report isn’t all that surprising. But after the team’s loss to the Sacramento Kings on Monday, Doncic revealed that he had problems with his injury he worked until the end, and that his playing status for the Hawks was up in the air.

A final decision on either player is unlikely to be made before the game. In addition to James and Doncic, Jackson Hayes also appeared on the report and was ruled out due to soreness in his left hamstring. Austin Reaves and Adou Thiero also remain sidelined.

The Lakers should return Rui Hachimura to the lineup against the Hawks. Hachimura did not play against the Kings on Monday, although he was not on the injury report. After the Kings game, head coach JJ Redick admitted that Hachimura will be on a ‘severe minutes restriction’, and was available only for one consecutive game, according to Jovan Buha from ‘Buha’s block.’

The team to help offset some of the Lakers’ injury woes signed guard Kobe Bufkin to a 10-day contractt. Bufkin has been impressive with the South Bay Lakers in the G League, and already earned a call-up with the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this season.
