Mark Spears reveals Stephen Curry’s interest in the next Olympics

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is out for a few more days as he continues to recover from a knee injury that has sidelined him since before the All-Star break.

Curry missed all of their games in February, leaving the Warriors without another star following Jimmy Butler’s season-ending knee injury.

Curry’s health is a concern for the Warriors over the past few seasonsas the 37-year-old guard’s body is seemingly breaking down from the high mileage. Retirement may not be too far for the two-time MVP.

Despite this, NBA insider Mark Spears said on ESPN’s “NBA Today” that Curry remains enthusiastic. re-dressing for Team USA at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

“Steph Curry is still interested in his second Olympic appearance. He’d be 40 at the time, but look, he’s a scorer. He’s the greatest scorer of all time. Why wouldn’t you want that on your roster?” Spears said.

“It’s not out yet. Let’s just say that.”

Curry finally made his Olympic debut 2024 in Paris, helping Team USA win the gold medal, highlighted by his incredible performance in the final against host nation France.

Curry has often said that he thoroughly enjoyed the experience. He confirmed on Team USA teammate LeBron James’ “Mind the Game” podcast that he is not closing the door on playing in the Olympics again, especially since it will be played on home soil.

If he’s the right fit in Los Angeles, Curry will introduce a roster that could include Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons, Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics and Cooper Flagg of the Dallas Mavericks, among others.
