New details on LeBron James’ Nike LeBron 23 ‘Shut Up And Dribble’ release

Los Angeles Lakers‘ LeBron James is having another historic season at age 23 in the NBA, keeping up with his historic line of signature sneakers at Nike likewise. James debuted a number of updated colorways of his latest Model Nike LeBron 23rings in this upcoming release with the classic moment that started the movement with “Shut Up And Dribble.”

The concept was born after a controversy media moment surrounding Fox News’ Laura Ingram and her commentary regarding a clip of LeBron James and Kevin Durant talking about Donald Trump and the political climate at the time. After insulting the exchange, Ingraham concluded her monologue with the phrase, “shut up and dribble.” In response, longtime philanthropist and supporter of black communities, James started “More than an athlete” initiative along with other missions outside the field.

Also recalling his MVP season in 2018, James and Nike will release the Nike LeBron 23 in a colorful colorway in honor of the “Shut Up And Dribble” moment.

The latest Nike LeBron 23 arrives Cool Grey/Metallic Silver-Hydrogen Blue-Black for one of the cleanest LeBron 23 colorways we’ve seen this season. The upper is crafted from cool gray mesh twill, which tucks into a metallic silver and iridescent crown midsole. The toe features a bejeweled Nike Swoosh, while the tongue features LeBron’s signature.

Based on an icy translucent outsole, the main detail here is the ‘STILL TALKING’ lettering along the heel. The “TAL” has been crossed out to read “YET KING,” a nod to James’ continued dominance at the top of the sport eight years since the viral news broke. The pair will come in special packaging, including a keychain, dust bag and LeBron collector’s booklet.
