Norman Powell teases a relationship with Tyler Herr when he returns
MIAMI – Ace Miami Heat star Tyler Hero has returned to training after missing the start of the season and still recovering from surgery on his left ankle, there is one bond on the team that fans have yet to witness and that is Herro and Norman Powell. There’s no question the veteran made an impact, as Andrew Wiggins called for Powell is the best thing for the Heat this year, but how will it look with Hera on the dance floor?
The Heat have Norman Powell in form with Tyler Herr when he returns

So far this season, Powell was excellent for the Heataveraged 26.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 47.9 percent from three-point range. One would imagine that stat would decrease when Herro returns in about a “a week or two”, as the star said on Sunday, but that won’t mean Powell will be pushed out.
In a one-on-one interview with ClutchPoints after Sunday’s practice, he would express his excitement to Hero and Bam Adebayoreturning to practice, saying he doesn’t expect any changes when the quarterback returns. Powell cites himself as having played with the stars in the past, co-produced with them, and even mentions how the two talked about “playing off each other.”
“Especially in this offense, I could see if we had to run plays and I needed a certain number of shots, or whatever it is, but that’s not the case,” Powell said. “I mean, if you look at my record playing with other stars, I’ve played alongside ball-dominant stars and still been productive and been able to produce. So I don’t think it’s going to be any different.”
“I think we’re going to complement each other with our style of play, the way they guard me,” Powell continued. “Now they have to guard Tyler as well. So I think we’ll have him in a lot of rotations, especially with the pace. We’re both unselfish players. We’ve already talked about how we’re going to come together and look for each other in transition and play against each other.”
Tyler Hero of the Heat on Norman Powell’s season so far
With The heat shows its new offense, emphasizing a free and fast system, it might be easy to envision Powell and Hero forming an explosive backcourt. Powell would get praise from Hero after Sunday’s practice, saying the former Los Angeles Clippers guard had “killed” and also stressing that he doesn’t “expect anything else to change” when he returns.
“He was killing it, very excited for Norm (Powell),” Hero told ClutchPoints. “I know how hard he works, since he came here, you know, he lived in the gym, guys are like that, I just throw my hat in. So I love the workers, I love the guys that come in and get extra reps, and that’s what he’s doing. I don’t expect anything else to change. He’s a hell of an offensive player. He’s going to continue to open the season for us.
He asked Tyler Hero about what he’s seen from Norman Powell at the start of the season and whether there will be a change in their form:

Still, there are a few games to play with Hero on the sidelines, as Powell will be called upon to be the leading scorer again in Monday’s rematch against the New York Knicks after last Friday’s disappointing loss.
Rebounding has been an issue for Miami recently, and Powell told ClutchPoints that aspect has been a big emphasis in practice, saying he’s taking the blame not just for the boards, but for the need to be a better leader. Either way, Powell and Heath are looking to get back into the win column on Monday night.
