OG Anunoby’s dunk attempt leads to an extremely rare NBA moment

The good thing about watching the NBA is that you’ll always get a chance to see something you haven’t seen before. Even if it is something absolutely unnecessary. Just ask New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby.
The Knicks hosted the Detroit Pistons at Madison Square Garden on Thursday in a possible preview of the conference finals. It was an affair from the start, with both teams refusing to back down.
In the second quarter, Anunoby took it too literally. He went for a dunk, but Cade Cunningham blocked the ball, which then went in got stuck on the side of the rim for a classic, all-time favorite, soul-enriching clove.
Legendary commentator Ian Eagle, in all his exuberant swagger, proudly bellowed, “Oh! FUN VEDGIE! THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN VERY OFTEN!”
“That doesn’t happen often!”

If that didn’t pump you up, nothing will.
Of course, the fans had to react to the unusual moment, pointing out that Cunningham got away with the foul.
“The wedge block is crazy. Cade does everything outside,” he said @PratikGrovth.
“At least it’s not a high school game where the ref has to get a ladder or a broom,” noticed @B82Scottie.
“Posting this clear offense as a highlight is insane,” wrote @Nafta456.
“Show the replay close up. It’s a FOL”, echoed @dj_immi_.
“This game is so crazy,” published @KOIIN_CENTRAL.
Anunoby’s wedge was a bad sign, as the Knicks fell to the Pistons, 126-111. They fell to 35-21, including 21-8 at home.
Anunoby struggled with eight points on 3-of-13 shooting, including 1-of-8 from long range. He also had four blocks.
Jalen Brunson had 33 points, six rebounds, eight assists and two steals. He also had six turnovers.
