Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner saw the real face of Desmond Bain

Orlando is gradually moving uphill. After starting the season with four losses in five games, the Floridians have three wins in their last four outings, the latest against Boston (123-110), which is undoubtedly the most successful this beginning of the year.
The overall defense still needs to improve to get back to last season’s level, but the end of the match was controlled and the ball circulated well on offense to highlight everyone (7 players with 11 or more points), with a nice 3-point skill as the icing on the cake (17/36).
“It’s a very important win for us and a very good match from us”, emphasized Franz Wagner. “I liked our energy for 48 minutes, even when they came down on us. That’s a face we need to show more regularly. It’s a matter of mentality. When the match is close, we need to make the right moves, and I feel we did that.”
His best game with Magic
Another very good news for the Magic is the appearance of Desmond Bain, who until then was a symbol of the Magic’s failure. Author of his best game since arriving in Orlando with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 blocks in 36 minutes, he got back on track after going three games under the ten-point mark.
Time is taking its toll and the former Grizzlies guard is simply starting to feel better with his new teammates, Franz Wagner and Paolo Bancher at the helm. “Our cohesion is improving”specified Paolo Banchero. “Every time we’re both involved in something, good things happen, so we have to try and see if we can do it again and again.”
That will be confirmed tonight
Franz Wagner was also delighted to see a more aggressive Desmond Bain and also sees signs of improvement in his integration into the collective.
“I’m not saying he wasn’t aggressive before, but I think we also have to do a better job collectively to find him, get him involved as much as we can in situations that suit his game.”added the German international. “I think we did it a little bit better on Friday night.”
In the same way as after the success obtained last weekend in Washington, which convinced the defensive (95-125), this victory against Boston now requires confirmation tonight, again against Boston at home. It will be a matter of adjustment, but also of continuity in relation to the offensive connection seen on Friday.
“We just have to focus on us. Especially after the way we started (25-38 in the first quarter)we just have to continue to improve and work on our principles of the game”conclusion Franz Wagner.
