Pelicans’ Zion Williamson gets intriguing ‘star power’ accolade
Zion Williamson he had a great career, mostly due to injuries. The New Orleans Pelicans star is aside most of this season with a hamstring injury, but recently returned to the field. People are now wondering if Williamson is still around it has the same star power that he had when he first came into the league, and one of those people is Nick Young.
“Is (Zion Williamson) losing his star power at all,” Young asked on the Gil Arenas Show.
“I don’t think so… It was all over the internet,” Gilbert Arenas said.
“He got more highlights. They saw that (dunk) more than the Cleveland Cavaliers and OKC game. “That one dunk alone was more viral than the whole game, and it was a good play,” Arenas continued.
Williamson continues to show that he is very productive when available and can change the outcome of any game. If the Pelicans can get more of that out of him, the outside noise should die down.

While Zion Williamson has had trouble staying on the court, he’s also been trying to stay consistent with other things as well. He was recently suspended for a game after being late, and reports say this is not his first offense. Williamson recently opened about ways he can be better in all areas.
“You do a lot of things on the court, off the court and even when nobody’s looking,” Williamson said. “Just keep growing as a leader out there and just, on the court, off the court, that’s all I can do.”
His teammates also see the effort he’s putting in to get better, including CJ McCollum, who said they want to see more consistency from him.
“I think he’s going in the right direction,” McCollum said. “I think it’s just about asserting yourself and applying yourself every day. We know what needs to be done day in and day out to be successful. We know what winning habits look like and what kinds of habits aren’t necessarily built for success.”
The Pelicans have a team full of talent, but have had a hard time getting everyone together due to injuries. The past few weeks have been good for them as they have picked up a few wins, and hopefully they will continue to grow as the season progresses.
