Praise for Olivia Miles from a teammate in the backfield

The TCU Horned Frogs and head coach Mark Campbell have built a reputation over the past few seasons for being able to land major players off the transfer portal. This season, TCU brought in arguably its biggest transfer in years Olivia Miles, a potential lottery pick in the 2026 VNBA draft. This season, Miles will share the TCU backfield with Donovin Hunter, another big transfer.

During a recent segment with college basketball reporter Autumn Johnson, Donovin Hunter talked about it how it was so far in sharing the TCU backfield with Olivia Miles this season.

“I’m excited, Liv is great. Her vision is through the roof. It shocks me even when I play with her,” Hunter said. “But a lot of respect for her. I’m excited to even be able to play with her and be involved with her. I mean, at the end of the day, she’s a player that wants to make everybody eat. So for me, it’s exciting because I love to do that too … the work ethic that she has, the vision, the excitement that she brings to everybody, she’s the excitement for everybody, to watch.”

Miles has appeared in games for TCU this season with just over 33 minutes per game. She averaged 17.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 2.8 steals while shooting 47.1 percent from the field, 35.3 percent from the three-point line and 84.2 percent from the free throw line.

By comparison, Donovin Hunter has also appeared in all four games so far for TCU as the other starting quarterback with only about 29 minutes per game. She averaged 16.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.0 steals on 61 percent shooting from the field, 48.1 percent from the three-point line and 50 percent from the free throw line.

The The Horned Frogs started the season are 5-0 after Thursday night’s win against Tarleton State, and are currently ranked No. 10 in the country.
