Record broken in the NBA: 135 foreign players!

Like every year, opening day of the regular season is also a day of roster evaluation, especially with regard to foreign (or non-American) players. In 2023 and 2024 there were 125, and this year the record has fallen since then the NBA announced 135 foreign players, from 43 different countries (tied record).
This is the fifth consecutive season that the Major League has at least 120 foreign players on its roster and the twelfth consecutive season at 100.
In detail we find 71 Europeans, incl 19 French. France is also the second most present country, behind 23 Canadians and ahead of 13 Australians. Germany will have 7 representatives, and Serbia 6.
We can even notice that thirty franchises have at least one foreign player in their team. The most international team? That’s Atlanta with 10 foreign players, ahead of the Blazers and Warriors (7).
The NBA announced today that a record 135 international players from a record 43 countries on six continents are on the opening night roster for the 2025-26 season.
All 30 teams have at least one international player.
