Seth Rollins reveals a target upon his return to WWE, and it’s not CM Punk

Whenever he can he came back from a shoulder injury, WWE Superstar Seth Rollins there is a lot of unfinished business with several guys.

Among them are current World Heavyweight Champion CM Punkwith whom Rollins has a long-standing rivalry. There’s also Vision’s Source Breakerwho kicked Rollins out of the faction in October 2025. Finally, there is Roman Reignswhich Rollins debuted on the WWE main roster as part of The Shield. Prior to his injury, Rollins appeared on a crash course with Reigns, possibly leading to their first match at WrestleMania.

However, none of them are who Rollins is targeting when he returns from injury, and he hasn’t Paul Heyman either. Instead, he wants to reclaim the championship he never lost: the World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins was forced to vacate the title after suffering an injury in October, and wants to win it back regardless of who holds it.

“The primary (target) in my return won’t actually be a person at all,” Rollins teased to ClutchPoints, continuing, “it’s going to be a thing. And that would be the World Heavyweight Championship because I’ve never lost the title, so I’m rightfully the World Heavyweight Champion.”

The “Interim Champion” can warm the seat of Seth Rollins before his return from injury

Whoever holds it when he returns can keep his spot warm, but Rollins has vowed to win the title again. It doesn’t matter if it’s Punk, Breaker or anyone else; will get the title back. For now I can call myself “temporary champion”, but do they consider themselves “justified champion”, there will be problems.

“That championship has been taken from me, and whoever (is) holding that title, whether it’s CM Punk, whether it’s Bron Breaker, whoever gets in my way, they’re going to be dealt with,” Rollins promised.

It is still unclear when Rollins will be able to return. He is a master manipulator, especially after he launched the Russians of the Century earlier this year. During an interview with ClutchPoints, he did not provide specific information about the timeline. He did, however, mention that he “has a few months left (in) my rehabilitation.”

He knows the WWE landscape could change before he returns. “I don’t know where the chips are going to be when I get back to the table,” Rollins said, using a poker analogy that happened to be topic WrestleMania 42 ads. Could he return for a second straight Las Vegas WrestleMania?

Still, Punk and Breaker should take Rollins’ comments as a warning. Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Breaker on the January 5, 2026 Monday Night edition of RAW in Brooklyn, New York. Maybe then Rollins will come back.
