Shak, the Inside NBA crew continues the Christmas antics with the latest prank
during ‘Inside the NBAFor many years as one of the best NBA shows on the air, the team of Shaquille ‘Shaq’ O’Neal, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson became known for their jokes and pranks on air as much as their NBA analysis. Those pranks continued during the cast’s broadcast of Christmas with Shaka breaking through Kenny’s big board in his usual attempt to beat Smith on screen.
Kenny Shaqo’s Christmas prank aside, this broadcast was notable in that it marked the first time that ‘Inside The NBA’ had been back on the air since November 12th. As a part the show is moving to ESPN this seasonthe cast’s shows will not air as much as they did when the show was on TNT.
‘Inside The NBA’ is one of the most successful sports shows in general, winning multiple Sports Emmy Awards. Hosts Ernie Johnson and Charles Barkley won multiple individual Sports Emmy Awards.
After a run during the 1989-90 season without a regular host, Johnson took over the role in 1990 and has been there ever since. Smith joined him in 1998, and then Barkley in 2000. It wasn’t until 2011 that Shaq was added to the team.
Since the start of the 2025-26 season, the show has only aired five times, including Christmas. It was held in three segments in the first month of the season in October, only once in November and once in December. But in January, the show will run more frequently until the end of the season with a total of 15 segments after Christmas.
