Spurs with no interest in blowing up the three-headed guard monster
The The San Antonio Spurs are a team on a rapid upward trajectoryas the pieces of their young, developing core begin to fall into place. Victor Wembanyama remains the cornerstone on which the team is built, but the Spurs have played well around him in recent years, nabbing Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper in back-to-back drafts, both of whom have shown All-Star potential.
But of course, the Spurs also brought in De’Aaron Fox via trade back in February, and some believe San Antonio may have to pull off a consolidation trade to avoid a backcourt logjam. However, as noted by ClutchPoints NBA Insider Brett Siegel, they will be holding on to that core trio of keepers for dear life.
“They have three big guards in Fox, Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle. They’re not going to move any of them right now. They’re very happy with how this group is looking. It’s going to continue to grow,” Sigel said on Clutch Scoops.

Much like the Oklahoma City Thunder’s draft to build a championship winning team, the Spurs are very patient with their youth. It seems a little premature to snap either of them before seeing them in the playoffs. But if they come close to winning the title in 2026, don’t be surprised if they end up being aggressive during the offseason.
Spurs, not a realistic trade destination for Giannis?

If the Spurs keep all of Fox, Castle and Harper, then they won’t have enough to attract the Milwaukee Bucks any potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade.
But at this point, the Spurs don’t need to make any blockbuster trade anyway. They’re flourishing in the West with their current group that likes to play with each other, and a seismic shift in the middle of the season might just dampen the vibes of the league’s fastest-growing team.
