Stephen Curry, Heat’s Andrew Wiggins share candid MLK Day moment

On Monday night on MLK Day, Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat faced each other at the Chase Center. It’s been nearly a year since the two teams agreed to a trade that sent Butler to the Warriors, with Wiggins returning to the Heat. This was quite tough decision for the Warriorsas Wiggins was a beloved member of the roster — a key part of their 2022 title-winning team.

The Warriors may not regret bringing in Butler, but it still has to hurt that Wiggins was the one who had to give up just so they could improve their roster enough to the point of legitimate title contention. The Dubs miss Wiggins’ contributions on and off the court, and on Monday, he and Stephen Curry shared a candid momentbecause they had to reminisce about their time together there in the bay.

You can just see the huge smile on Wiggins’ face as he and Curry embraced. It was with the Warriors where Wiggins really learned how to play winning basketball without anyone ever taking away the fact that he is an NBA champion.

The Warriors’ unfortunate dual-timeline strategy cost them Andrew Wiggins

It might be a little disingenuous to say that Wiggins’ departure via trade was prompted by the Warriors’ insistence on a two-timeline approach. But they decided to keep Jonathan Cumminga instead amid all the turmoil their roster has been through over the past few years, and Kuminga probably won’t fetch that much on the market these days considering he’s basically on paid leave.

A player with Wiggins’ skill set is exactly what the Warriors need right now — a 3-and-D wing who isn’t afraid of the moment.
