The availability of Giannis would change the Dubs’ thinking about Draymond
Giannis Antetokounmpo seems tired of losing already, and there’s a chance he could officially request a trade in the coming weeks. To make things even more interesting, he is expected to be out for at least two to four weeks with a calf strain, meaning that Milwaukee Bucks they have a chance to lose even more games during that period.
This is the setting for Antetokounmpo is probably on a new team this season, and there will be several interested teams looking to trade a player of his caliber. One of those teams could be Golden State Warriorswho have always been in love with the idea of having Antetokounmpo; they just didn’t want to trade certain players.
At this point they could be milder, and Draymond Green may be in a packageaccording to NBA insider Jake Fisher.
“The Warriors have also been reluctant to consider win-all moves that would require them to trade Draymond Green, but Antetokounmpo would likely change that equation for the Golden State brass,” Fisher wrote. “That’s been the theme here, right? But Antetokounmpo is so dominant, so transcendent, that his availability has the power to change the calculus of nearly every front office around the league.”
Everyone knows that Green is the heart and soul of the Warriors, but there is no question that Antetokounmpo is a huge upgrade over him. If the Warriors want the best chance to win with Stephen Curry in his final years, getting a talent like him would be huge.
The only thing is that the Bucks will have to like any trade, and it’s hard to see them accepting any package from the Warriors unless maybe a player like Jimmy Butler is attached. Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski may not reach a deal.
