The Cavaliers stop the Heat’s good run

Jaret Allen Cavaliers HeatForty-eight hours later alley-oop au buzzer d’Andrew Wigginsin this same room, the Cavaliers get revenge with a 130-116 victory against the Heat. This is teammate Norman Powell’s first defeat at home, ending their four-game winning streak.

Cleveland gets the team more credit because they showed up without Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley or Jaylon Tyson. A flurry of absences allowed the Heat to get off to the best start thanks to Kel’el Ware and Norman Powell hitting 3-pointers (17-10). On the Cavaliers side, Craig Porter Jr. came back well, limiting the damage, then doing a Larry Nance Jr. impersonation. After twelve minutes, Heat remained in front (38-29) thanks to a good pass by Simone Fontecchio.

The G-League is in power!

Again the Italian gives 10 points ahead (45-35), and again Porter Jr. prevents the Cavaliers from sinking. Kenny Atkinson uses his G-League bullpen to stay in touch and Lonzo Ball to direct the game. He’s the one who serves up Jarrett Allen for a foul basket, and then again he makes a 3-pointer and draws a flagrant three-shot foul. The Cavaliers ended the first half with a 15-4 lead and returned to the locker room with only a three-point deficit (69-66).

The same scenario in the second half with the Larsson-Vara duo giving the Heat a 10-point lead (78-68), and the Cavaliers continuing to chase the score with Ball shooting from long range and Allen close to the circle. Thanks to Powell, Miami holds them and even leads by 14 points (92-78). But just like in the second quarter, the Heat stalled. Dean Wade wakes up the Cavaliers with his threes, and Cleveland ends the quarter with a 15-5 lead.

This time, Cleveland insisted and for the first time since the start of the match, Kenny Atkinson’s players took control. After Luke Travers, it was Nae’Quan Tomlin who hit a layup and then a steal (108-102). The totem of the team, Jarrett Allen brings a point by making foul after foul (118-106). This time, the Heat won’t come back, and the Cavaliers are offering themselves perhaps their biggest collective win of the season.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– Jarrett Allen and sponsor. The only All-Star dressed on the Cleveland side, Allen dominated the racket on both sides of the court. Aggressive, always looking for the circle and his undermining work paid off in the 4th quarter. With 30 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 12/20, he demonstrates that he can be a leader when Donovan Mitchell or Evan Mobley are absent.

– Spark Porter Jr. Coming off the bench, Craig Porter Jr. is getting the most playing time for the Cavaliers, and it shows just how essential he has been. With 19 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 steals, he recorded his most complete game of his career, and more than a hundred percent 3-point performance, we will remember his reading of the game.

– The heat is submerged. Like the transparent Nikola Jovic, Vrućina lost too many balls to hope to win. The Cavaliers scored 29 points on turnovers, but also 24 points after offensive rebounds!
