The reporter reveals that she fell asleep listening to the chanting of ‘Fire Nico’ in the streets outside the AAC

Dallas Mavericks fans continued to express theirs dissatisfaction with the team’s general manager, Nick Harrisonon Monday night. After the loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Mavericks fans left the American Airlines Center demanding his dismissal.

“I live pretty close to the American Airlines Center, and I’m falling asleep tonight to the sounds of fans leaving the stadium chanting ‘Fire Nico’ through the streets of Victory Park. I can hear it through the windows,” Dallas Morning News reporter Leah Assimakopoulos said on X, formerly Twitter. The statement was also posted on the account of Mr.BuckBuck Ks.

It seems the fans got their wish. The The Mavericks fire Harrison on Tuesday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported. Mavericks fans also yelled that Harrison was shooting during the Mavericks’ game with the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night. Harrison was seen staring into space as fans shouted at him.

The Mavericks are 3-8 after Monday’s loss to the Bucks.

The Mavericks are making a mess of the next general manager

It’s going to be tough for the next person to serve as the Mavericks’ GM. Dallas is a struggling franchise with a losing record. The distrust of the fans towards the organization is also obvious, after the trade of Luka Dončić last season.

Harrison was the architect of that craftwho sent Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers. Doncic continued to put up incredible numbers for Los Angeles while Dallas struggled with big man Anthony Davis. This led to a furor against Harrison.

The Mavericks have a new star in rookie Cooper Flagg. Flagg was selected first overall in the 2025 NBA draft. He played for Duke in the 2024-25 season, leading the Blue Devils to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament.

Dallas’ star rookie thinks so the club keeps getting better.

“We all feel good about the day as a whole and that’s something that’s going to be huge for us,” Flagg said after the Bucks loss, per the team. “Tonight, for a lot of us, we felt more comfortable, more organized. I didn’t feel forced tonight. As a team, we did a better job of organizing and getting where we wanted to go.”

The Mavericks play the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
