The Rockets have their mojo back
After their failed match against the ClippersThe Rockets wanted to redeem themselves against the Lakers, in particular Amen Thompson. The person in question was therefore held responsible for Kawhi Leonard’s 41 points.
In the first half, he appeared with 16 points, tied with Kevin Durant. After their two drives, the Rockets had a ten-point lead when they entered the locker room.
“Sometimes I feel like we’re just trying to stay in the game and tell ourselves that our talent will be enough. If we let it shine in the first two quarters, that’s what happens.”explains the young player.
Not content with being his team’s leading scorer with 26 points, Amen Thompson contributed to Houston’s rebound fest with seven grabs, but he also provided defense, as felici Udoka’s name : “He did a good job against Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves, but he was also very aggressive on offense. He had some easy baskets early in the game and I think the defense and offense kind of fed off each other.”
“Become defense dogs again”
After the loss to the Clippers, Ime Udoka had criticized his team’s lack of intensity. In order to regain energy, he modified his starting five with integration Tara Eason. Paid choice.
“The name trusts me to do what I know how to do,” explains Tara Eason. “We have to get back to being dogs on defense and I knew I would be able to set the tone.
Thus, thanks to the successful performance from the collective point of view, the Rockets won 119-96 and end a complicated journey on a good note.
“We got back to our usual way of playing by being efficient in defense and skilful in attack.” says the Houston coach. “Our defense is in the top five in the league, but we had some problems offensively. We lost a couple of games in overtime that could have gone in our favor, but that doesn’t mask the areas we need to improve. Tonight was a good performance overall.”
However, in six games away from their Toyota Center, Houston has won just two and suffered three overtime losses. The Rockets will end the year with two home games against the Cavaliers and Pacers. Two games within reach that could end 2025 with a winning streak for the Texans.
